西湖旅游英语导游词
Today, we’re going to visit one of the most famous tourist attractions in China-the West Lake. The poem goes that,Plain or gaily dressed like Xizi; West Lake is always alluring. Now follow me, I ‘ll show you the attractions and tell you the legends one by one.The famous West Lake is like a brilliant pearl embedded/em'bedid/ in the beautiful and fertile shores of the East China Sea near the mouth of the Hangzhou Bay. The lake covers an area of 5.6 square kilometers. The view of the West Lake is simply enchanting, and it offers many attractions for tourists both at home and abroad.
One of the top ten resorts is Tiger-running SpringThe legend goes that two tigers ran there and made a hole ,then a spring gushed out. The Lungching Tea and the Tiger-running Spring water are always reputed as the "Two Wonders of the West Lake".We Chinese say:天堂水,龙井茶,西湖双绝. And many stars would like to advertis the two wonders as spokepeople.
The next resort is the Spring Dawn at Su Causeway. Su Causeway is a thin strip of land nearly three kilometers long covered with peach and weeping willow trees. In spring, with the lakeside sparkling in the morning dew, birds cheerfully chirping among swaying willow branches, the smell of peach blossoms wafting through the air,.Maybe you‘ll question whether you’re in the midst of paradise.
Another resort is Lotus in the Breeze at Crooked Courtyard. The typical West Lake scene has earned its fame since the Southern Song Dynasty, when the lakeside area with an abundant growth of lotus off its shores was known as Crooked Courtyard, and was the location of a brewery. People said the smell of lotus and wine blended by the cool lake breezes was intoxicating. Nowadays the brewery is gone, but lotus plants still bloom off its shores. They stand gracefully in the lake, as if they knew they had visitors coming to admire their beauty.
The next listed on the ten scenic itineraries is the Autumn Moon on Calm Lake. At the western end of Bai Causeway is located a lakeside park which houses a stone tablet bearing the etched calligraphy of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, which reads: "Autumn Moon on Calm Lake". The lake is a special place to appreciate the moon and the effect of moonlight on the land. The moon seems especially bright over the waters. The hills look purplish bathed in the moonlight. The best time for nighttime viewing is on Mid-Autumn Day.
The most romantic scene of the ten must-see around the West Lake is the Melting Snow on the Broken Bridge. The broken bridge earns its fame not only by the bieautiful senery, but also by a folktale. The stone-arched Broken Bridge is where the characters of a famous Chinese folktale, Xu Xian and a beautiful girl, who is actually a white snake, first met and fell in love with each other. Now you must have recall the memory of a fairy tale——The love story of lady white .The fabulous spirit lady payed a debt of gratitude for XuXian. It is the power of ture love that makes her pass through the test of time——1000 years! Now let’s review the moving love story by watching the vedio and a classical song waiting 1000 years.
Since we’ve known the story, the next resort we’ll visit must be Leifeng Pagoda. Originally built in the 10th century, Leifeng Pagoda used to stand in front of Jingxi Temple on Nanping Mountain; though failed to stand the test of time, the Pagoda collapsed in early 1900s. In 2002, Leifeng Pagoda was reconstructed; then comes back the typical Sunset Glow over Leifeng Pagoda, one of the ten charms of West Lake, as the Pagoda looks especially majestic when surrounded by the golden hues of the setting sun. With combination of a traditional aesthetic style and modern architecture techniques, Leifeng Pagoda affords a view of West Lake in its entirety.
The Lingyin Temple, or the Monastery of Soul's Retreat, is a famous historical site of the West Lake. Here exists the Lingyin Monastery, a famous ancient temple in China, in front of which there are Feilai Peak, Cold Spring, Longhong Cave and precious rock cave arts and varied natural caves and gullies and Feilai Peak.Legend has it that this limestone peak flew from India where it had formed part of a holy mountain. These are of particular interest to Buddhists and those who have a love of sculpture and art. Personally I award the title of the Most Poetic to the Evening Bell at Nanping Mountain
As evening falls, we can catch one of the tour coaches to visit the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. Just off the southern shore of the Island of Little Oceans stand three small pagodas that seem to float on the water. Each about 2 meters high, when candles are placed inside on moonlit nights, the effect is of 4 moons dancing on the shimmering night waters.
Now, we’ve finish our trip.Welcome to the West Lake next time. Thank you, my tourists, thank you all.
